BACtwin Converter for a Unified User Addressing System

A standardized addressing system is essential for efficient building operation. The identical addressing of building automation functions across all construction phases, makes and bus systems creates the basis for technical monitoring, energy-efficient system operation, simplified, person-independent operational management of all systems in the property portfolio, reliable coupling of building automation functions and data with third-party systems and the coordination-free digitalization of technical building management, among other things.

AMEV's BACtwin user addressing system (BAS for short) is the first standardized addressing system that can be used for all building portfolios. It serves as a template for a generally valid addressing system in accordance with VDI3814. In cooperation with the TU Braunschweig and the company Entendix, ICONAG Leittechnik GmbH in Idar-Oberstein is developing AI-based strategies for migrating existing addressing systems from different building sections and manufacturers to the BACtwin BAS.

ICONAG now offers a special service for this purpose: The BACtwin converter for converting and standardizing existing user addressing systems or asset identification keys in the real estate portfolio to the universally valid BACtwin BAS. Data point lists of any construction stages and automation systems can be uploaded here. Ideally, the data point list contains the following information: Data point name (“Objectname”), data point description (“Description”) and data point type (“Objecttype”).

“The effort for the user is minimal,” promises ICONAG Managing Director Christian Wild: ”With the e-mail as confirmation of receipt, the user receives an online questionnaire in which four questions are to be answered. This information is necessary for us to understand the specific use case for using BACtwin-BAS and to ensure optimal support.”

After a short processing time, the user receives a translation of the data points into the structure of the BACtwin addressing system.
